ALAMEDA, Calif. — Defensive lineman Richard Seymour signed his $12.4 million exclusive franchise tag tender with the Oakland Raiders.

The Raiders announced the move Saturday on their website.

Oakland placed the tag on Seymour in February, making him unable to negotiate with any other teams. Raiders coach Tom Cable said the sides had been working on a long-term deal, but Seymour decided to sign the one-year tender.

The Raiders are done with their offseason program, so Seymour will join them when training camp starts July 28.

• The New Orleans Saints have agreed to trade tackle Jammal Brown to the Washington Redskins for an undisclosed pick in the 2011 NFL draft.

Hur leads LPGA ShopRite Classic

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, N.J. — South Korea’s M.J. Hur has the lead after two rounds of the ShopRite LPGA Classic with comeback kid Paula Creamer right behind.

Hur birdied the 18th hole for a 7-under-par 64 and a one-stroke lead over Creamer heading into the final round of the $1.5 million tournament, just miles from the Atlantic City casino resorts.

The 20-year-old Hur has a 36-hole total of 11-under 202 in her quest for her second LPGA victory. She won the Safeway event last year.

Jamie Elson of England shot a 3-under 68 to take the lead after the third round of the Saint-Omer Open in France.

Henin wins Unicef Open

DEN BOSCH, Netherlands — Justine Henin beat No. 7 Andrea Pet- kovic 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 to win the Unicef Open for her first grass- court title in three years.

“Andrea gave me a lot of problems in the third set when I had to come back from 3-0 down,” Henin said.

• Unseeded Ekaterina Makarova of Russia defeated Victoria Azarenka 7-6 (5), 6-4 at the Eastbourne International grass-court event in England to win her first career title.

• Former No. 1 Dinara Safina withdrew from Wimbledon because of a lower back injury that has plagued her since November.

American Melanie Oudin, an 18-year-old, will replace Safina.

Rui Da Costa of Portugal broke away over the final six miles to win the eighth stage of the Tour of Switzerland in Liestal.

Robert Gesink of the Netherlands maintained the race leader’s jersey, and seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong held seventh place, 55 seconds back. Also, Luxembourg cyclist Kim Kirchen was placed in a medically induced coma after having a heart attack at the Tour of Switzerland, his team said. The rider felt dizzy at the team hotel Friday.

• Ohio State football recruit Jamel Turner is in critical condition and a 17-year-old girl is dead after both were shot multiple times in Youngstown, Ohio.

• Former major-league pitcher Bob Hartman died of an infection after battling cancer in Kenosha, Wis. He was 72.
