Rockies third baseman Ian Stewart can’t find his RBI swing. He hasn’t driven in a run since hitting a three-run homer June 4 at Arizona. Making contact was a problem against the Brewers. Stewart struck out twice in each of the last two games at Coors Field. After going 1-for-9 in the three-game Milwaukee series, he is hitting .191 against left-handed pitching this season and .254 overall.
Flying solo.
Right fielder Brad Hawpe hit his fifth home run of the season in the second inning Sunday — but like the previous four, the bases were empty. Hawpe has 25 RBIs and is hitting .281 this season.
Missed opportunity.
The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Rockies, who were denied in a bid to go a season-high five games over .500.
