The Boulder County district attorney’s office has decided not to file charges against a person arrested this month in connection with a suspicious death in Lafayette. Enrique Jose Garcia of Lafayette appeared Monday afternoon in Boulder County Court, but Judge Care Hoye Enichen told him that the district attorney “is not going forward now.”
Garcia was booked into jail June 3 on suspicion of tampering with physical evidence and attempting to influence a public servant after he told family members that he took the gun his roommate used to kill himself and then fled the state, according to an arrest affidavit.
Police found the body of Kelly Lee Willard, 24, on May 28, after Garcia’s sister requested that they check on an occupant at a home, according to an arrest-warrant affidavit.
