Scattered showers and thunderstorms will crowd out the sun in areas along the urban corridor this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

The rain and thunder could come with lightning and gusts of wind up to 40 miles per hour.

For Denver and its surrounding areas, including Boulder, the afternoon will be partly sunny with occasional thunderstorms. There is a 20 percent chance of rain with temperatures reaching to the lower 90s.

This evening, the area’s temperatures will drop to be in the upper 50s with a cloud cover and a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms.

Starting Sunday morning and lasting throughout the day, it will be cloudy with a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will get up to around 80 degrees.
