A third person has died from injuries suffered in a highway accident in which a vehicle rear-ended a weed-spraying truck on the Eastern Plains.
Vernon Chute, 79, and Norma Chute, 77, of Greenville, Ill., were killed Monday morning in the crash with the state highway truck that was spraying herbicide along I-70 west of Burlington, the Colorado State Patrol said.
Two children in the car were airlifted to St. Anthony Central Hospital. One of the children, a 15-year-old boy, died Monday at about 11:45 p.m., the Colorado State Patrol said.
The names of the children were not released.
The truck driver, Michael Vance, 53, of Burlington suffered minor injuries.
