Micki Reeves of Grand Junction placed 11th in the semifinals on Day 2 of the third and final K-1 World Cup of the season in Augsburg, Germany. Reeves had a run of 279.92, with 108 seconds worth of penalties. Her 11th-place finish was one back of making the cut.

Team USA’s male K-1 athletes had a tough day too. The Germans dominated on their home kayaking course, sweeping the podium in the final round.

Lacrosse title matches set.

The Vail Lacrosse Shootout moved closer to crowning champions after men’s and women’s semifinal matches Saturday.

On the men’s side, Maverik Elite advanced to the final with a 13-6 victory over Team 21. In the other semifinal, Team Chipotle dominated from the start and defeated Combat Sports/Rocky Mountain Oysters 14-5.

Team Chipotle was led by Peyton Tyrie, who had eight first-half saves. Andrew Lay and Joey Murray also contributed solid performances for Team Chipotle as midfielders.

On the women’s side, advanced to the championship game with a 12-3 victory over Team Extreme. will play for the title against the Colorado Tropics, who advanced by beating the Portland Purple 11-10 in overtime.

The women’s elite-division championship is scheduled for 9 a.m. today at Ford Field in Vail. The men’s elite championship will start at 1 p.m. at Ford Field.
