A man who allegedly fired a gun in the air and then aimed at police last week in Denver was formally charged Friday.
The incident occured just after 2 a.m. on July 2 as a crowd was leaving Vinyl nightclub, at 1082 Broadway.
Sorl Shead, 21, is charged with two counts of first degree assault and prohibited use of a weapon.
Police said Shead fired a gun into the air in an Arby’s parking lot near 10th and Broadway, and then lowered the gun toward police officers and at the crowd.
Police responded by firing at Shead, and then arrested him after a short foot chase.
The incident left a woman who was in the area with bullet fragments in her leg from police fire.
Shead is in custody at the Denver Detention Center being held on a $250,000 bond.
