The Urban Land Conservancy paid $1.3 million for 1.3 acres near the Yale light-rail station.

ULC purchased the property at 5155 E. Yale Circle using Denver’s Transit Oriented Development Fund, created to buy property around transit stops. ULC leveraged seed money totaling $2.25 million from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation into a $15 million fund to buy properties near transit, where it plans to preserve and create affordable housing.

It is expected that housing built at the Yale location will use financing from the federal low-income housing tax-credit program for residents who earn 60 percent or less of area median income.
