Police said today they are investigating a homicide after a woman’s body was found near Bear Creek Trail on Saturday.
An autopsy by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s office on Monday determined that the woman was killed.
The manner of death and the identification of the body is not being released at this time pending fingerprint identification, but Sheridan police believe she was a transient that may have been living along the trail.
The body of the woman, believed to be about 50 years old was found on the bike path along the trail at 2600 block of West Hampden.
Englewood Police, Sheridan Police, and the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Department are following multiple leads.
