Newly sworn-in Lafayette Councilman John Buechner said Wednesday that he wants to be “one among equals” on the city’s governing board.
The council voted Tuesday 4-2 that the former head of the University of Colorado should replace former Councilman Kerry Bensman, who resigned this month, the Daily Camera reported.
Supporters point to Buechner’s illustrious career in public service, but some critics said they felt the selection process was rushed.
