Flight attendants are giving a show of support for JetBlue’s most famous employee Steven Slater, praising him for fighting “flight attendant abuse” and creating a fan page for him on Facebook.
The Facebook page for Slater already has more than 15,000 followers and continues to grow, TMZ reports.
The comment section reveals most of his support comes from flight attendants who wish they could have done what Slater did.
One user wrote, “We (flight attendants) secretly have thought about doing this…..you are my hero for taking a stand on flight attendant abuse!!!!”
And another — “Kudos to you, I am a former flight attendant and only wish I had the nerve to do what you did!!!!!!” And yet another — “As a former F/A, you made my fantasy come true–you just did what we have all thought about doing a thousand times! Good Luck to you! :)”
Slater, who told off a passenger on a JetBlue flight Monday and then abandoned ship on the emergency chute, is charged with two counts of reckless endangerment, two counts of criminal mischief and one count of criminal trespass. His bail is set at $2,500.
Cynthia Susanne, who was married to Steven in the early ’90s and remains “great friends” with him, said she talked with his mom, Diane.
She told Cynthia the passenger in question insisted on getting her luggage before the plane came to a complete stop, TMZ reports.
As the plane taxied, Steven “politely asked the woman to close the overhead and sit.” According to Diane, the passenger responded with an “f**k you” and began defiantly pulling her bag from the overhead. Slater told his mom he tried shutting the bin, when she “maliciously” pulled the bin down, striking Steven in the head.
Cynthia says Steven’s mom was clear — it was the bin, not luggage, that whacked Steven in the head, causing a cut.
Matt Damon will be making some repeat performances on “30 Rock.”
The “Bourne” action hero, who played Tina Fey’s bumbling love interest on the hit sit-com’s fourth-season finale, will be back, according to cast member Katrina Bowden.
“We don’t know what all of the surprises are going to be, but I can tell you that Matt is coming back this season for some appearances,” Bowden said, InTouch reports.
“30 Rock” will premiere Sept. 23 on NBC.
Meanwhile, a bundle of joy arrived for another Saturday Night Live player.
Amy Poehler and Will Arnett have welcomed Abel James Arnett, who was born on Friday, weighing in at 7 pounds, 13 ounces.
It’s the second child for “Parks and Recreation” star Amy and “Running Wilde” star Will, whose son Archie will turn 2 in October. “Amy, Will, Abel and Archie are all healthy and resting comfortably,” according to In Touch.
Even though he won’t be singing, Marc Anthony will making sweet music with Jada Pinkett Smith when he appears on her TNT series “Hawthorne.” Anthony said his character falls for Smith’s Christina, a hard-working chief nurse in a hospital.
“Sparks fly. I think he has a crush on Christina and … you’re gonna have to watch it!” he said in a phone interview on Monday.
Anthony plays Detective Nick Renata, a New York City cop who is investigating a kidnapping in Richmond, where “Hawthorne” is based.
“I realized right there that Christina needed a man,” he said, laughing.
Anthony has acted quite a bit before, even starring with wife Jennifer Lopez in the 2006 film “El cantante,” in which he portrayed legendary salsa singer Hector Lavoe.
Though he’s in the middle of a tour for his Spanish album “Iconos,” Anthony said he “absolutely” wants to keep on acting.
Working with Pinkett Smith, he realized how fulfilling it is for him.
“I feel more capable than ever,” he said.
