A 50-year-old man who was fatally shot at a Monument tire shop was identified this afternoon.
Bradley Blehm died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to an El Paso County Sheriff’s Office media release.
The shooting happened at about 4:25 p.m. Monday and the victim died in the parking lot of the Big O Tire Store at 650 Highway 105 in Monument.
The suspect, 18-year-old Logan McClelland, is being held, without bond, in the El Paso County jail on suspicion of first degree murder.
The investigation is ongoing, but police said they don’t believe the suspect and victim knew each other.
McClelland and his 54-year-old father, who are from Como, got into a heated argument with Blehm, who worked at the shop, after they went there to get a flat tire fixed.
The three continued the argument outside and it quickly turned into a physical confrontation, said Lt. Lari Sevene, spokeswoman for the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect then pulled out a gun and fired it multiple times.
“I don’t believe the store employee was armed,” Sevene said. “There were a multitude of witnesses.”
