It’s not football, but Air Force and Colorado have entered into an agreement to play a men’s basketball home-and-home schedule beginning in the 2011-12 season.

The series would begin in Clune Arena at the Academy and go to Boulder in 2012-13.

“We have everything pretty much done for the first two games,” AFA athletic director Hans Mueh said. “We’re working on scheduling two more games.”

Mueh said there could be a season off between the first two games and the second set of two. He also indicated the matchup could continue on a yearly basis.

“I’d personally like to see that happen,” Mueh said. “We’d like to begin playing all of the Division I teams in the state.”

The Falcons already play CSU as part of their Mountain West Conference schedule. Their other in-state opponents would be Denver and Northern Colorado.
