A free community barbeque and fundraiser for the Adams 12 School District will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Thornton Family Barbershop on 128th and Colorado.
While the event is free, the barbershop is asking for donations of school supplies for children at the Adams County schools.
Starbucks locations in Thorton and Westminster are also accepting donated school supplies, including the locations at Interstate 25 and 120th Avenue and 84th Avenue and Pearl Street.
Two UPS locations, at 120th Avenue and Colorado Boulevard, and Thorton Parkway and Washington, will also accept donations on Saturday.
Among the items requested are No. 2 pencils, whiteboard erasers, hand sanitizer and notebook paper.
