Firefighters put out a three-acre brush fire this morning on the east side of Interstate 25 near the Happy Canyon neighborhood.

The cause of the fire, which was reported about 10 a.m., was a faulty catalytic converter on a vehicle, according to the South Metro Fire Rescue Authority.

It took about 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze and no structures were damaged.
