Legendary microphone fiend took stage late Wednesday night while a rumor that Charlie Murphy was in attendance swirled through the crowd.
Rakim’s set started off with selections off his 2009 effort, “The Seventh Seal.” The show down shifted into Eric B. and Rakim hip-hop classics, including my favorite “Don’t Sweat the Technique.” It may be over two decades since the release of the seminal “Paid in Full,” but Rakim’s microphone melting technique is ever formidable.
