LONE TREE, Colo.—A Jewish center south of Denver is celebrating the completion of a handwritten copy of the Torah.

The Chabad Jewish Center in Lone Tree marked the completion of the scroll on Sunday.

The Denver Post reports that a specially trained scribe in Jerusalem spent about a year completing the scroll, using a quill and animal-skin parchment.

The congregation provided more than $50,000 to commission the Torah.
