Hermine, once a hurricane but now downgraded to a tropical depression after it hit shore Monday night in northern Mexico and southern Texas, caused little damage but is playing havoc with airlines serving a number of Texas cities and destinations in Mexico.
Continental Airlines announced Tuesday that storm conditions were forcing delays and cancellations at a number of airports, including San Antonio, Corpus Christi and Houston.
Customers on Continental flights affected by the storm may through today change their itineraries once without penalty. United and American also announced travel waivers in Texas cities.
Southwest Airlines “is keeping a watchful eye” on the storm, according to its website.

As for damage, a peeled-back motel roof in the coastal farming town of Raymondville and scattered power outages were about the worst leftovers from the gusty, drenching storm. In Mexico, Hermine knocked out power for several hours in Matamoros and damaged about 20 homes.
