Vocalist Nic Offer’s flamboyant performance style, with mannerisms akin to those of Dennis Reynolds from FX’s “Itap Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” immediately infected the audience with dance fever at the on Thursday evening when opened with the first track off of their new album “Strange Weather, Isn’t It?”

Alongside Offer, the band’s other vocalist, Shannon Funchess, brought her own unique theatrical stage presence to the set when she joined the rest of !!! on stage during the second song, “Wannagin Wannagin.” The twelve-song performance, including the one-song encore of “A New Name,” focused mostly on the band’s recent release. However, they did incorporate a few of their older pieces, such as “Yadnus” and “Must Be the Moon” into the set.

While Fuchess and Offer dazzled the crowd with their showmanship, drummer Paul Quattrone provided spectacular percussive beats that perfectly synchronized with the music’s synth elements, performed by the talented, multi-instrumentalists Dan Gorman and Allan Wilson, as seen during songs such as the funk-sounding “Jamie, My Intentions are Bass.”

Regardless of one’s love, aptitude, or appreciation for dancing, an avoidance of such at the !!! show this past Thursday night seemed impossible. The succinct beats and melodies supplied by Quattrone, Gorman, and Wilson along with Offer’s and Fuchess’ enthralling on-stage personas made for an excellent evening of contagious dance music.
