Colorado’s venerable , “the most carefully-pronounced name in show business,” reunite for the first time since 1998 in a benefit concert for mandolinist Ellen Audley, whose illness has left her family with huge medical bills.
The all-female MoFos filled concert halls throughout Colorado for 25 years before the group disbanded 12 years ago. Many continued recording — bassist established a solo career in blues. Singer/songwriter is a headliner and familiar to KCBO “Studio C” recording fans. has won Parents’ Choice and National Parenting awards for her children’s music.
The benefit for Audley will follow the MoFos’ unique format, not unlike the popular “in-the-round” setting where each musician leads a song with the full ensemble also performing.
The Mother Folkers will perform tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the the , 2199 California St., Denver. Tickets are $25.
