PUEBLO, Colo.—Doctors are performing free surgeries on the working uninsured.

The Pueblo Surgery Center is playing host Saturday to a “Surgical Day of Giving” for the third year in a row.

The free surgeries range from hernia repairs to cyst removals, costing anywhere from $4,000 to $10,000.

The patients have already been screened to see whether they qualified for a free surgery.

Federal data show more than 50 million people nationwide have no health insurance.
