MIAMI — A military judge Thursday postponed by one week the resumption of the war-crimes trial of Guantanamo captive Omar Khadr as lawyers for the government and Khadr negotiated toward a plea deal to avert his “child-soldier” terrorism trial. Khadr, 24, faces a maximum of life in prison if he is convicted. He was captured at 15 in a July 2002 firefight in Afghanistan.
