Dropping references to Cherry Creek, Boulder marijuana, Chipotle steak, American Furniture Warehouse, Molly Brown, Colfax Avenue, Red Rocks, Coors Light (ewww …) and Lakeside Amusement Park, this clean-cut spoof video takes on Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” with charm. It makes up for its lack of production values with a sense of humor and straightforward delivery.

Cheers to the spirit of the video. (I’m a proud native myself.) But good intentions aside, this spoof video is hardly noteworthy or humorous — though it has topped 22,000 views on YouTube.

Our pick for a tight, on-point and recent spoof video is “Newport State of Mind,” a Welsh-proud take on Jay-Z’s “Empire State of Mind.” Check it after the jump.
