Carol Rymer Davis, the balloon pilot believed lost somewhere over the Adriatic Sea, was memorialized Saturday by hundreds of friends and family in Denver. The bodies of Davis, 65, and her ballooning partner, Richard Abruzzo, have not been found.

“You are not only the sports woman, the doctor, the soldier, the wife, the mother, and grandmother of this and every year,” Andrew Davis said in a eulogy. “You were truly the most incredible woman we could have ever had the privilege of traveling with in our life’s journey.”

Davis will be inducted into the Colorado Aviation Hall of Fame on Saturday.
