DENVER—Frontier Airlines plans to launch seasonal flights between Kansas City and Fort Myers, Fla., this winter.
Starting Dec. 18, the Denver-based carrier would fly between the cities once a week. That would increase to two roundtrip flights per week in February.
A 99-seat Embraer 190 aircraft will serve the new route.
Frontier’s vice president of strategy and planning, Daniel Shurz, says Kansas City has been a huge area of growth for the airline this past year.
Republic Airways Holdings Inc. bought Frontier last year and has a regional focus in Milwaukee, Kansas City and Denver.
