SOUTH BEND, Ind.—A North Carolina teenager accused of using the Internet to make fake bomb threats to six universities and to FBI offices in Louisiana and Colorado has pleaded guilty.
The 17-year-old boy from Oxford, N.C., pleaded guilty Wednesday in South Bend, Ind., federal court to conspiracy.
The teen admits making threats last year to Purdue University, Indiana University-Purdue University at Fort Wayne, University of North Carolina, Clemson University, Florida State University and Boston College.
A plea deal calls for a sentence of up to five years in prison when he is sentenced Nov. 23. The Associated Press left a message seeking comment from defense lawyer Alison Benjamin.
