DELTA, Colo.—Delta police have fatally shot a man who officers say fired at them first.
Police Chief Robert Thomas says police were investigating a report of shots fired around 1:15 a.m. Saturday and saw a suspect outside a house. Thomas says the suspect opened fire, and police fired back.
The three police officers who were involved are on paid administrative leave, which is a standard policy in officer-involved shootings while the case is investigated.
Police didn’t immediately release any names.
