Fit 4 Colorado School Challenge

CBS4 and HealthONE’s Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children is again offering this program recognizing elementary schools in the metro area that strive to keep students and faculty healthy. “Get Fit at the Garden: A Walk for Wellness”

Wednesday: Garden of the Gods offers a weekly fitness walk Wednesday mornings. Participants can choose a 1-, 2- or 3-mile walk. Meet at 9 a.m. in the Red Rocks Room. Wear appropriate shoes and bring a hat, water and sunscreen. A reception with a free snack will be held in the Visitor Center Cafe. Walks continue through November. Bacaro’s Monthly Ride & Lunch

Bare Leg Run

Saturday: The Denver VA Medical Center presents the second annual Bare Leg Run: Bare Your Legs for Those Who Have Bared Arms, a 5K walk, run and roll at 9 a.m. A 5K hand-cycling event is new this year. Proceeds are used to send Colorado Veterans to various VA National Events where they can experience adaptive activities. The national events include the Veterans Wheelchair Games, the Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic, Veterans Golden Age Games, Veterans Creative Arts Festival, the Veterans Summer Sports Clinic and the Veterans TEE Tournament. Saturday: The seventh annual run to benefit the Mountain Gorilla Conservation Fund to protect gorillas in the jungles of Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
