A pedestrian who died after being hit by a vehicle on the Boulder Turnpike has been identified.

Jon Dykas, 26, of the Boulder area, was hit at about 7 p.m. Thursday on U.S. 36 near McCaslin Boulevard.

Dykas died a short time later at Centura Health Avista Adventist Hospital, the Boulder Coroner’s Office said today in a media release. The cause and manner of death are “pending further investigation.”
