A Johnstown man allegedly sexually assaulted his 10-year-old stepdaughter and recorded the attack with a cell phone camera, police said.
The allegations came to light on Saturday when Johnstown police received a phone call from the suspect’s wife, said Sgt. Aaron Sanchez.
The wife told officers she had logged on to a home computer, under her husband’s sign-on, and found disturbing sexual images of her 28-year-old husband and ten-year-old daughter, who is the man’s step-daughter, Sanchez said.
The woman told police when she first found the material she confronted her husband. He denied any wrong doing and fled to his workplace in Longmont, police said.
Police went to the workplace, took the suspect into custody, and brought him back to Johnstown where he was arrested, Sanchez said.
The suspect is being held at the Weld County Jail on suspicion of sexual assault of a child by a person in a position of trust. His bond has been set at $150,000.
His name was not released in order to protect the identity of the victim, police said.
