HELENA, Mont. — A Montana sheriff said the suspect in a state trooper’s shooting death has been found dead following a manhunt.
Gallatin County Sheriff James Cashell said the suspect, Errol Brent Bouldin, was found dead Wednesday night in Broadwater County. He said authorities had not yet determined how Bouldin died.
More than 100 police officers had been searching for Bouldin after the shooting death of 23-year-old Montana Highway Patrol officer David DeLaittre.
DeLaittre was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon on the side of the road near Three Forks, about 30 miles northwest of Bozeman, in what appeared to be a traffic stop gone wrong.
