ASPEN — Police searched for a missing man for hours Saturday along a 10-mile stretch of Colorado 82 but came up empty.

Authorities believe 28-year-old George Aldrich may have hitchhiked after he got off at the wrong bus stop.

Aldrich was last seen on Nov. 27 riding a bus at 11:15 p.m. from Rubey Park, after leaving Eric’s Bar in Aspen.

Aspen Assistant police Chief Bill Linn said family members identified Aldrich in a Roaring Fork Transportation Authority video. Aldrich was seen entering the bus, sitting on the bus and then leaving the bus alone.

Police are looking to talk to anyone who was riding the bus that night about the time Aldrich on board.

Aldrich, who is from Rhode Island, was reported missing Monday when he did not show up to work in Snowmass. His family is offering a $5,000 reward.

“It’s a huge mystery at this point,” said Aldrich’s father, George Aldrich Sr. “If anybody has seen him or knows anything about him, please just call the Aspen Police Department.”

Police are asking anyone who saw Aldrich that evening to contact them at 970-920-5310.

Aldrich is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall with long, brown hair, weighing 140 pounds. He was wearing a plaid winter coat.
