A man driving a pickup truck died in a roll-over crash early this morning in Aurora.
The single-vehicle crash happened at about 3:35 a.m. on East Quincy Avenue near South Pitkin Street, according to an Aurora Police Department media release.
Michael Dowdy, 26, of Aurora, was driving a blue 2002 Dodge Ram westbound on Quincy when the truck hit a curb, a street lamp pole and a dirt embankment, before coming to a stop upside down.
Police believe excessive speed was a factor in the fatal crash and an investigation is ongoing.
Whether drugs or alcohol was involved will be determined through toxicology test, which can take up to eight weeks.
