A Weld County jury today convicted 64-year-old Richard Norton of attemped first-degree murder and 12 other offenses, including setting a fire and shooting at deputies, during an 11-hour standoff in Keenesburg in July 2009.
Norton stabbed his boss several times, set fire to a building on his property and fired at deputies. His former boss surived.
He faces a minimum of 16 years in prison when he is sentenced on Feb. 11, prosecutors said.
