Getting your player ready...

The Denver-based DJ/producer duo always hits the decks hard. But their latest residency will have them in the 702 and not the 303. I guess Sin City caught wind of what was going on in Denver and tapped the Beta kids to play two of the swankiest clubs on the strip. We’re talking and (both park of the Wynn resort). This all starts on on New Year’s Day, and Reverb had a chance to catch up with Shawn Sabo (half of Manufactured Superstars, with Beta co-owner Brad Roulier, ) to give us the skinny on what the bright lights of Vegas have in store for them.

Talk to us about how the residency came to be and what this means for Manufactured Superstars.

“The residency came to be by us continually playing in Las Vegas. We performed at XS at few times last year, all of which were amazing shows. Las Vegas is one of our favorite cities to perform in, the people, the service and the energy are unbeatable. Everyone goes to Vegas to let loose, and we are there to enhance the experience with the best electronic music.”

Any other residencies on the horizon, and what can fans look out for in 2011?

“Other residencies — we just finalized a deal to have a residency at Playhouse Nightclub in Hollywood, Calif. We are close to finalizing NYC and Miami. On the music tip, we will continue to remix major label singles. We have just finished remixing Bruno Mars, Flo-Rida, Nicole Scherzinger and many more.”

The Hollyfelds’ new music video

Whiskey guzzling twang folkers just released a new video for their single, “Ain’t it Something” (watch it below), and was able to catch up with the quintet’s Eryn Hoerig about their always-busy schedule. (Photo via )

How was the video shoot?

“Making this video was a really fun experience — the directors really understood the story in the song and we all think it turned out great. Plus, who doesn’t love a good murder story?”

And what does the new year hold?

“We’ve got big plans for 2011. Sam, our drummer, just had a baby — Emmett Gray, our newest honorary Hollyfeld — so we’ll probably be playing fewer shows, but we’re planning on using that time to write and record a full-length that will hopefully be out by the end of the year, or possibly early-2012.”

A free mix-tape from Pictureplane

Travis Egedy, a.k.a. , was lucky to come back alive from Alaska. Judging from the from his most recent excursion into the vast wilderness, the kids up north know how to get up and get down in the most debaucherous of fashions. In his latest contribution to the music world, Pictureplane has contributed a mix-tape to lifestyle/clothing brand , which you can cop right . (Photo Julio Enriquez)

Year-end cheers for Tjutjuna

Churchill feels the Kickstarter love

is feeling a lot of local love these days. So much, in fact, that the group reached a $6,000 fundraising goal to pay for its next record. Reverb spoke with Churchill’s Mike Morter to talk about the promising band’s future. You can purchase their lead single, “Miles,” off of their forthcoming album “Happy/Sad” . (Photo via )

What did you guys do to hit your Kickstarter goal?

“We really focused in on the social networking for our Kickstarter. We only had a couple of shows within the 30 days of our Kickstarter project, so we had to rely on word of mouth and every social network possible. We also wanted to set our incentives at a reasonable price, and that helped us out a bunch.”

Talk about the support of KTCL.

“KTCL has helped us out a lot. They play us on their locals only, and with their Hometown for the Holidays contest, we have gained a lot of new fans. We have also played a couple of KTCL-sponsored shows as well.”

The new album comes out this February. Any tour plans for 2011?

“We are hoping to tour after we release ‘Happy/Sad,’ but we’re focusing on playing shows around town until we find the right tour. We want to make sure we do it right.”

“Happy/Sad” will be at Twist & Shout on Feb. 8, and the CD release show will take over the Hi-Dive on Feb. 11 at the Hi-Dive.
