LONGMONT, Colo.—Federal officials say an investigation into the death of a skydiver at the Longmont airport could take about three months.
Authorities say 38-year-old Denver lawyer Emily Berkeley died of injuries she suffered Saturday while practicing a skydiving maneuver called swooping at Vance Brand Municipal Airport.
In swooping, skydivers glide horizontally above the ground before hitting a designated spot.
Boulder County Coroner Tom Faure said Wednesday the cause of death was multiple blunt-force injuries.
Allen Kenitzer, a spokesman for the FAA, says his agency is investigating the incident.
