Englewood police have arrested Michael Anthony Renner, 34, in connection with a Wednesday slaying.

Englewood police said they were asked to conduct a welfare check on a 49-year-old man in the 3400 block of South Lincoln Street about 2 p.m. Wednesday.

At the home, they found the man dead, the victim of a homicide, police said in a news release.

An arrest warrant was issued for Renner, with police saying they believed he was driving a black Geo Tracker.

Police received information Thursday that Renner was at the Public Storage lot, 1801 W. Belleview Ave. Englewood and Littleton officers arrived and located Renner, who was arrested without incident.

Colorado court records show Renner had been imprisoned for theft and assault charges in 2001 and for trespassing with intent to commit a crime in 2004.

The name of the victim will not be released until after an autopsy has been conducted and the next of kin have been notified.

A ruling on the cause of death is pending an autopsy by the Arapahoe County coroner’s office.

Anyone with information about this case can call Englewood police at 303-761-7410.
