GREELEY, Colo.—Authorities say a bull has stomped a 62-year-old man to death in north Greeley.

The Weld County Coroner’s Office says Dennis Maxey had just purchased the animal and was trying to unload it into a pen Friday afternoon when he was stomped.

Police Lt. Steve Nelson says the Maxey apparently died instantly. Two other men called managed to put the animal in another pen.

The Greeley Tribune reports that although Maxey’s driver’s license listed an Evans address, there was also information he lived in Greeley.

A coroner’s investigator took the body to McKee Medical Center in Loveland for an autopsy.
