FORT COLLINS, Colo.—An inmate who died at the Larimer County jail a day after his arrest has been identified as 53-year-old Charles Edward Betts.
An autopsy found that Betts had no signs of trauma when he went into cardiac arrest Thursday morning. Sheriff’s deputies found him at his cell during a routine check.
Officials are still waiting for toxicology results to determine the cause of death.
Sheriff’s officials say deputies arrested Betts on a warrant of failing to appear on a charge of possession or consumption of alcohol at a park. Betts was also being investigated for a manslaughter and domestic violence case.
