The 56th Miss Rodeo Colorado, Kellsie Purdy of Estes Park, was celebrated with a coronation at the National Western Stock Show Sunday night.
She will reign over the stock show, which concludes on Jan. 23, and make dozens of other appearances across the state this year as an ambassador for rodeo. She succeeds Kasie Pigg of Pueblo.
Purdy was chosen during a four-day competition at the Greeley Stampede last summer.
A junior at Colorado State University, Purdy is the daughter of Mark and Michelle Purdy.
Miss Rodeo Colorado and dozens of other members of rodeo royalty volunteer throughout the show, often signing autographs for fans and encouraging youth service.
