CASPER — Wyoming high school students have written legislation that would require all seventh-graders in the state to be vaccinated against bacterial meningitis.

The Casper Star Tribune reported Sunday that state Sen. Bill Landen plans to introduce the legislation in the session that begins Tuesday.

Students from Casper’s Roosevelt High School were inspired to prepare the bill after learning about the 2007 death of 20-year-old Colorado college student Sierra Krizman. She died from bacterial meningitis a day after she began feeling sick.
