MANKATO, Minn. — Dustin Jackson’s goal 21 seconds into overtime gave Denver a 4-3 win over Minnesota State on Saturday night.

The Pioneers (14-5-5, 10-3-2) spotted the Mavericks (10-9-5, 4-9-3) a three-goal lead, then came storming back. MSUM led 3-0 after Eriah Hayes’ goal at 2:41 of the second period. Chase Grant and Channing Boe also scored early goals.

Beau Bennett started the comeback at 5:30 of the second.

Nick Shore and Jason Zucker scored in the third for Denver. Zucker’s goal at 13:31 sent the game into overtime.

Adam Murray had 24 saves for Denver and Phil Cook 26 for MSUM.

“It was certainly a great win for us, considering the way we played the first two periods,” DU head coach George Gwoz- decky said. “Our team continues to show a great ability to come from behind. We do need to have better starts to our games, and we can do that starting next Friday against Alaska Anchorage.”

AIR FORCE ACADEMY — The Falcons (9-9-3, 7-5-3 AHA) battled back from a three-goal deficit to tie the game in the second period, only to see the Black Knights (6-14-2, 5-8-2) score two goals in the final four minutes for the win.
