COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—First came the panic when Primo Paragas realized that his wife was in labor early Sunday morning. Then came the nightmare when he realized the car he left running and packed with a laptop, bags, diapers and baby clothes had been stolen.
The Fort Carson soldier called an ambulance for his wife and then took a cab to the hospital after stopping to report the stolen car. Paragas made it in time to see his son, Jude Russell, born.
When word of the theft spread, the Fort Carson Army Wives Club website started soliciting donations for the family. The site’s moderator, Candice Demers, tells the Gazette in Colorado Springs that donations started rolling in.
Then Paragas learned Monday his car had been found.
