Police in Wheat Ridge are asking for the public’s help in nabbing an armed robber they’ve dubbed the “Good Wrench Bandit.”

On Monday a lone gunman robbed an auto parts store on the 4400 block of Wadsworth Boulevard, according to a Wheat Ridge Police Department media release.

Police described the robber as a black man, about five-feet nine-inches tall and 150 pounds. The robber wore a hat, bandana and “hoodie” jacket. He fled the store on foot.

Police believe the same robber has hit several auto parts store in the metro area.

The robberies are typically committed during the evening hours, police said.

Anyone with information on a possible suspect or the robbery is asked to call Wheat Ridge police at 303 237-2220.
