Webroot, a Boulder-based software company that makes computer security programs such as Spy Sweeper and Window Washer, recently laid off less than 10 percent of its employees worldwide, according to company spokeswoman MacLean Guthrie.

“Webroot has grown very rapidly in the past year, including four acquisitions and two joint ventures,” she said. “Companies that go through this kind of growth need to identify organizational overlaps and redundancies, and that’s what we’ve done.”
