The house party was on at Nathan Meese’s of . Those packing the yellow house in the Baker neighborhood near El Diablo included Tim Bruns, who played three songs despite being ickly sickly; Chris Heckman; Joe Sampson; Joseph Pope III, Tim Hussman; Caleb Slade and Fairchildren (fronted by lovely Julie Davis, who is sought out to play alongside just about everyone in Denver in need of a string).
Dozens streamed in and out of the house throughout the night including familiar names in the local music community like , Jeff Davenport and Tyler Rima and Joe Richmond (who also lives
there). Gear packed the front half of the house, people packed the back half, and smokers packed the back porch.
It was a sardine can of DIY love, culminating in Davis’ warm and wonderful set that included a smoking cover of “My Funny Valentine.”
The recurring mantra of the night: “Let’s do it again.”
