GREELEY, Colo.—About 1,200 people have turned out for a series of meetings about jobs at the Leprino Foods Co. plant in Greeley.

Leprino tells The Tribune that it expects about 3,000 people to apply for the 77 openings it will have this year at its new cheese factory.

The company expects its workforce to expand to 500 over the next three years. The 800,000-square-foot plant in east Greeley should be fully operating in 2013 or 2014.

Leprino will take applications for the first wave of jobs from Feb. 28 through March 3. The first jobs to be filled will be mostly maintenance and technicians and likely will be filled around May.
