The hot streak for city sales tax collections is cooling.
Colorado Springs sales tax collections in January rose 2.77 percent from a year earlier, the city reported Thursday. It was the 15th consecutive month of year-over-year gains, but the smallest gain since August. January collections reflect purchases made in December.
