One person died and another has been taken to the hospital this afternoon after a motorcycle crashed on Highlands Ranch Parkway.
At 12:02 p.m. the Douglas County Sheriff’s office responded to the motorcycle accident on Highlands Ranch Parkway, just west of Broadway, according to spokesman Ron Hanavan.
The motorcyclist, 27-year-old Matthew Martinez of Highlands Ranch, lost control and slid into a curb at a high speed. The motorcycle continued to slide down the sidewalk and hit a pedestrian, Hanavan said.
Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene.
The pedestrian was taken to a hospital, Their condition wasn’t immediately available.
