Colorado State Troopers say a mobile meth lab was busted near Blackhawk this morning after a vehicle was pulled over for speeding on Highway 119.
At 6:23 a.m., Chad Buchanan, 36 of Aurora, was driving northbound on Highway 119 when troopers pulled him over for speeding through a construction zone, according to a news release from the Colorado State Patrol.
After the arrest, troopers found drug paraphernalia and other items consistent with the makings of a meth lab.
The Colorado State Patrol Hazardous Materials Unit responded to the scene.
No one was in immediate danger as a result of the materials.
The West Metro Drug Task Force is assisting State Patrol with the removing and disposing the materials.
Both lanes of northbound Highway 119 were closed for about five hours.
Buchanan faces charges of intent to manufacture a controlled substance, driving while his license was suspended and speeding in an active construction zone.
